Museum Reopens For The Victorian Chautauqua
The Victorian Chautauqua showcases the town's history each year during the weekend following the 4th of July. The influx of visitors prompted an interest in revamping the museum's collection, first publicly displayed in 2006
Strong Man Cody
Strong Man Cody is a modern-day version of an era of burly men. His passion for fitness and self-improvement led him to currently hold the record as Maryland’s deadlift champion within his weight class. In a demonstration of strength, Strong Man Cody will attempt to break a new personal record before a live audience.
New Acts, Old Look
The Victorian Chautauqua will be introducing Vaudeville In The Street in 2023. A smaller tent venue offers up short performances of live music and unusual acts indicative of a more bawdy side of entertainment from the turn of the last century.
Victorian Chautauqua Awarded Grant From CTF
The Victorian Chautauqua is a proud recipient of a $10,000 grant-award from the Naylor Family Trust Fund as part of The Community Trust Foundation (CTF). Committee Chair Bob Spear and the Program Committee's Mary Helen Spear were in attendance to accept the award.
Hat Making Workshop
New for the 2023 Victorian Chautauqua is the Victorian Hat Competition. If you need some inspiration, a special workshop will be held at the Garrett County Arts Council $MART ART Shared Workspace.

Calling All Writers!
The Victorian Chautauqua Writers’ Workshop Series is back with two adult and two children’s programs from instructors who are leaders in their fields. These valuable workshops provide a learning experience for writers who want to hone their skills in a nurturing, collaborative environment.
Town Trolley Ornament
The Town Trolley Keepsake Ornament makes a perfect holiday gift. Once the minimum order has been met, the ornaments will go into production. Time Travel Trolley Tours
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, residents and visitors to Garrett County can experience a unique time travel adventure by riding the Mountain Lake Park Trolley from Oakland’s Historic Center to the Mountain Lake Park Historical Association Museum. Seating is limited.

Cousins Collaborate For Authenticity In Victorian Chautauqua Portrayal
Although actress and drama therapist Sara Sincell lives in far-away Los Angeles, that fact is not stopping her from traveling east this weekend to her hometown to take part in Mountain Lake Park’s Victorian Chautauqua. Sincell will be portraying Harriet Quimby, a ground-breaking young woman who among many other accomplishments was the first female aviator to cross the English Channel flying her own plane.

Ol’ Fashion Hymn Sing
In a long-standing Chautauqua tradition, Sean and Debi Beachy will lead a hymn sing much like the original founders of Mountain Lake Park would have expected. Two performances on Sunday, July 10th will allow everyone a chance to participate without missing other programming.
Beard & Mustache Contest
Back for a second time, the Beard & Mustache Contest is a lighthearted celebration that will certainly grow on you. Join the fun, Sunday, July 9th at 5:00 PM.

The Victorian Chautauqua food market offers an array of delicious treats and local favorites to keep your engine running all day long. Stop by between performances or grab something to go as the day comes to a close.
NeuBeam Offers Free Wi-Fi
Victorian Chautauqua attendees will be able to stay connected throughout the weekend and enjoy the opportunity to share their fun on social media platforms with posts and live media with free Wi-Fi powered by NeuBeam.
Kid-Tauqua Gets Fully Funded
The entire children's program at the 2022 Victorian Chautauqua has been graciously funded by Samantha Funding The Arts. The nonprofit is led by June and Charlie McClosky in memory of their daughter Samantha who was passionate about the arts. Over time, countless arts programs in the community and beyond have been made possible through the organization's philanthropic work.
