The Model T Ford Club Returns
The Mason Dixon T's Chapter of the Model T Ford Club International will be returning to showcase a variety of authentic cars manufactured between 1908 and 1927. As an added bonus, the club’s president, Bill Ramsey will be presenting the history of America’s most popular automobile at the 2022 Victorian Chautauqua on Saturday, July 9.
Nellie Bly
Gracing the Victorian Chautauqua stage for a second time, JoAnn Peterson will bring one of the most amazing women from history to life in a first-person portrayal of adventurer and groundbreaking reporter Nellie Bly. Peterson’s 2021 performance of “The Unsinkable Molly” Brown moved audiences to tears.
George Washington Carver
George Washington Carver was an American agricultural scientist and the most prominent black scientist of the early 20th century. Keith Henley will be portraying Carver at the 2022 Victorian Chautauqua where audiences will be amazed by Carver’s profound influence on modern agriculture and horticultural science.
Children's Book Writing Workshop
The Victorian Chautauqua Writers Workshop series will be held July 11-15, 2022, and will feature several disciplines in writing. Among the first announced by the program director, Lori Youse is a children's book writing workshop with instructor Ashley Belote.

Featured Closing Concert Announced
The Ted Yoder Band will be the featured musical performance for the Victorian Chautauqua weekend on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 6:00 PM. Yoder's charming backyard viral video performing Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule The World" showed how he rules the hammered dulcimer.
A Good Reason To Be Cranky
Katherine Fahey has perfected the art of shadow play, also known as shadow puppetry. Katherine has her own adaptation of the art form which she calls Crankies. With the help of fellow puppeteer and foley artist, Dan Van Allen, the pair use her artistry of paper cutting, ethereal shadow puppetry, music, to tell captivating stories.
Tintype Time Travel
Gibson is anxious to return to the Victorian Chautauqua in 2022 to take tintype photo commissions on Saturday, July 9, and Sunday, July 10. His beautiful work not only captures everyday people and scenes it has also been used in major motion pictures.
Big Wheel Keep On Turnin'
Commonly called a penny-farthing, the first machine to be called a bicycle, was also known as a high wheel, high wheeler, or an ordinary. The design featured a front wheel that was roughly four times larger than the back. Rider, Brian Birkner demonstrated his bike and shared the fascinating history at the 2021 Victorian Chautauqua.

The global pandemic forced many festival to cancel in 2020, leaving the Victorian Chautauqua no choice but to move the entire program to 2021. Th much-anticipated weekend will unfold July 10th and 11th with fascinating lectures, historical portrayals, music, artisans, food and much more.
Victorian Chautauqua Looks Ahead
Plans are underway for the 2021 Victorian Chautauqua event in Mountain Lake Park. The planning committee had its first in-person meeting since the coronavirus sidelined the 2020 event. With a full schedule already assembled, the committee is enthusiastic that next year’s event will be able to take place as planned.
