Looking Back And Ahead

The 2021 Victorian Chautauqua was a lively weekend that included a variety of historical portrayals, lectures, and demonstrations, all set amidst the charm of Maryland’s first Chautauqua resort. Plans are underway for 2022 to bring fresh entertainment and interactive experiences for the entire family. Some favorite guests from this year will return, including the Mason Dixon Model T Club, The Wheelman Brian Birkner, and tintype photographer Rob Gibson. All are eager to share their passions for a bygone era.

The program schedule is well underway, with announcements coming in the months ahead. The three big tents will be dedicated to live performances, lectures, and Kid-Tauqua children’s programming. An updated Trolley tour will enlighten riders about Mountain Lake Park’s illustrious history as a Chautauqua community.

Now is a great time to start planning your 4th of July celebrations, including The Victorian Chautauqua weekend on July 9th and 10th. The family-friendly festival is a perfect summer reunion event. Free admission and programming are made possible through tax-deductible corporate and private donations and grant funding. Food vendors will be on-site, or families are welcome to bring a picnic basket.
