What do you get when you cross the Victorian era with music technology? The TeenPunk Silent Disco! This free summer kick-off event is exclusively catered to teens.

So often the school year ends and students’ social calendars come to a screeching halt. The Victorian Chautauqua plans to remedy that with a special event to reconnect friends, introduce new freshmen, and gather teens together to celebrate their youth with a nod to the past.

Specifically created for rising freshmen to graduated seniors, this outdoor dance party is like no other. With 100 LED-lighted headsets from SoundOff™, music will be silently broadcast by Sound Fusion Entertainment so everyone can opt-in or out of the dance party throughout the evening. Scheduled from 7:30 PM to dark, the excitement builds as the light show becomes more intense under the giant Martin Tent in Mountain Lake Park.

The theme is Victorian with a modern twist – often called steampunk. It’s a fun and sometimes wildly inventive aesthetic merging of the Industrial Age, Victorian fashion, science fiction, and fantasy technology. Costumes are encouraged to enhance the experience for everyone but are not required. Surprise your friends with what you wear or come as a group with your own fantasy story to tell.

Win Prizes

At the end of the evening, a drawing will be held for special prizes. Win a wild Cosmic Bowling Party for eight from the Alley that includes 90-minutes of bowling, a pizza, 8 drinks, and shoe rental.

For those who want a dance break, there will also be social games and food to purchase on-site. As a special treat, the splash pad will also be open. Nobody is too old to enjoy the silliness of water play. Be sure to bring a towel if you plan to get wet but leave your headsets with someone else. They will not be permitted on the splash pad.

The event will be free to attend but is only for students within the qualifying age range.

Want to be a parent volunteer? Sign up to help with the evening event. Various tasks will include setting up, breaking down, handing out and collecting headsets, overseeing activities, directing teens, and assisting them while there.
